During his road to 17-1 start to his carrer, Michael Bisping was the darling of the British media. Much of that changed after he suffered a vicious knockout at the hands of Dan Henderson at UFC 100. Hendo put Bisping to sleep on his feet. All of sudden, the golden child became the golden punching bag in the U.K. The Sun in particular really mocked Bisping, photoshopping his KO'd headshot in a variety of scenarios. Bisping told Cagewriter at first he wasn't too upset.  

"When I saw the pictures of me. I was like whatever. It didn't really bother me too much."

Bisping then pointed out that The Sun did the same thing to Forrest Griffin after his loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 100:

"It was only then that I noticed this guy is just clowning people. He's supposed to be a legit journalist for a legit website. That's not reporting on the sport. That's not having respect for guys who get in there and put it on the line. That's just making a mockery of fighters."

Bisping wouldn't name the writer but said he's done granting interviews and being cooperative:

"I noticed there's a pattern developing. When he sent me an email asking me to go out to lunch to do an interview, I sent him an email back with words I wont repeat on air."

Bisping said he gets mostly professional treatment from the U.K. media:

"A lot of the British media likes to build [up athletes] and them shoot them right back down. As far as MMA [media] it's an isolated incident."

The Sun may have gone a little too far. The photos were funny but it was  disrespectful to Bisping. There has to be some middle ground. Of course, there's also being unprofessional in the other direction. The Strikeforce event in Chicago featured one "writer" from an MMA magazine drinking several beers on press row until he was scolded by the P.R. staff and another "television" reporter, who was seen hugging several fighters after victories. That includes embracing Fedor Emelianenko backstage on this video (1:40 mark).
