Battle of the Web sites: BJ vs. GSP

Penn vs. GSP has been broken down in every way imaginable. Experts have weighed in, trash has been talked, and drama has ensued. CageWriter now looks at the most reliable predictor possible when determining who will win the fight. Who has the better Web site?

BJPenn.com: Penn uses his Web site as more than just a place to shill for his sponsors and merchandise, though he does plenty of that. His page boasts video contests, an online community, a forum and plenty of news from B.J himself. "The B.J. Penn Show," webisodes hosted by Margeaux Bailey, feature local Hawaiian fights and occasional commentary from Penn. The videos play automatically when you arrive at the page, which I find irritating. This site is called the home of MMA, which is a bit much, and it's rather self-glorifying for Penn, but that's to be expected on his own Web site. Overall, it's a bit busy, but it's loaded with features, and not a bad site.

Two sites represent GSP, his official fan club site and a Yardbarker blog. That's part of the problem. GSP fans don't want to check in with two different places to keep up on him. The fan club site has easy navigation, music that is easily turned off, and the basic stuff you want from a fighter, like a bio, merchandise and news on GSP. However, there is no forum or way for fans to connect, and the video selections are pretty limited. Also, there should be an updated link to the YB blog. GSP regularly updates the Yardbarker blog, and it's an interesting enough read, but I'd like to see him really explore the studio space, and do some contests like Rasheed Wallace and Marshawn Lynch have done on YB.

After looking at both sites, it is 100 percent, irrefutably clear that B.J. Penn will win, as he has the better Web site. Congratulations, B.J!

Silva is gonna knock Machida out in the first round you people watch..*GSP and Penn will go to the 3rd or 4th with both fighters very bloody then all of a sudden GSP knocks Penn out cold with a superman punch lol..That would be crazy but noone really knows anything can happen..

There is no blog about it so I will make my own topic cause this one is boring me now let them fight and we will see who wins.....
I would like to take this time to have a moment of silence to honor Grandmaster Helio Gracie. The world is a darker and less imaginative place without you. RIP

I didn't hear that he passed. Too bad.
D rok, I'll be right here in town but I volunteered for a fund raiser a WHILE back and it's Saturday night. Man oh man I would love to see Silva-Machida and PENN-GSP. I have a smarta$$ friend that graciously volunteered to keep me posted by text messages. He's a heavy drinker so I'm sure he'll forget. LOL. I'm pulling for Silva but like you said, it's hard to beat a runner...I mean "counter-striker" like Machida. His style bores me to death. He back pedals the entire round until about the last 20 seconds and then tries to steal it. I'm taking PENN for the win. I felt like he won the first fight but it was close and you could tell he was about gassed in the 3rd round. It's hard to argue the decision I guess.

D rok ........ Can't you watch it via laptop through the UFC website live? I wonder if you can watch it through the phone as well?
What up Karl A? I got Penn for the win as well. I think BJ "gets it" now as far as not taking what he has for granted and looks like completely different fighter. Something about a dude that licks the blood of his opponent after he finishes them off makes it hard to bet against.

D rok, Beardown & James C, a laptop won't help me any, I have a pig to bar-b-q. I'll be busy but I can say it's at least for a good cause. It's hard to go wrong contributing to benefits for handicapped children. I'll still be waiting for updates though.
Ican2, I only need to go back to the Ortiz fight with Machida. He backpedaled the entire fight until the end of the round. The guy has talent but it would have to be a frustrating style to have to match up with. If he ever matches up with another pure counterstriker it would be the shortest fight in history....they could just fast forward through the first 4 and 1/2 minutes of the fight so we could see them beat the hell out of each other for the last 30 seconds or so. Tito should have stood in the middle of the 'gon and waited. BTW, you're right, Kaleb Starnes did run like hell from Nate Quarry, that was pathetic and he is no longer in the UFC. As far as riding Machida's dick...there are some that might say he's a handsome guy but that's not my style. I'm in Montana with FICHTCHICA just on top of me in British Columbia...I've always wanted to explore the Canadian Bush.

If Thiago can do the opposite to Machida -- tempt him with patience of his own while still controlling octogon movement there could be some interesting conflicts. I see circle left then reverse it to draw Machida to him. but that is just me.

Fightchica...I was merely pointing out that you are in British Columbia and I am in Montana. Canada is to the North of the U.S. or in other words, on top. LOL, I will be completely surprised if you don't eventually come back with something.
Ican2, I wasn't even going to comment back to Dynadumbasstay but I will give you the nod for a comment well said.

GSP is taking this fight and I will be surprised if it goes the distance. Unlike many here I will get to watch it and I am hoping for a really good fight card. Penn doesnt have near the conditioning of GSP, and he wont stop GSP so although Penn will have a good start its his finish that he should worry about. Lets also keep in mind GSP is a far better fighter then he was last time. Penn maybe better too but only marginally. Make us proud GSP!!!!!!!!!
