Thierry Sokoudjou is beginning to look at lot like the UFC's Houston Alexander. His lack of ground skills becomes embarrassing against top level submission fighters like Renato Sobral. It took a while for Babalu to finally get it to the ground but when he did in the second round it was lights out for Sokoudjou. Babalu did major damage with top control against the ropes and when the fight was reset in the middle of the ring he worked hip control to slap on a choke. Sokoudjou was forced to tap from an anaconda choke at 2:36 of the second round.

Tito Ortiz working the Affliction television broadcast interviewed Babalu in the ring and asked the Brazilian if he'd like fight in the future. The crowd responded with a loud roar after booing Tito when he first got into the ring.
