    Mets lose third consecutive game, presented by W.B. Mason

    The Mets managed just five hits and were shut out for the eighth time this season in a 5-0 loss to the Nationals on Tuesday night at Nationals Park. In case you missed it… Matt Harvey allowed one run on four hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings. He struck out three and was removed following a rain delay of 1:25 with two outs in the bottom of the fourth. The Mets mounted their only real threat in the sixth, loading the bases with one out. However, James Loney struck out and Wilmer Flores flied out to center to end the inning.     Ricco: Wheeler 'felt fine' after long tossing, will continue rehab slowly

    New York Mets RHP Zack Wheeler "felt fine" after long tossing in Port St. Lucie, Florida, on Monday and will continue to take his rehab from Tommy John surgery slow, assistant GM John Ricco said, according to ESPN New York's Adam Rubin. Wheeler threw for the first time since he received a cortisone injection for nerve pain in his pitching arm last week in New York. Ricco said the organization will not rush Wheeler back from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent last spring. It appears likely that Wheeler won't reach the majors until August, though the team has not committed to a revised timetable given Wheeler's recent setbacks.
