    deGrom battered in Mets loss to Marlins, presented by W.B. Mason

    Jacob deGrom lasted just 3 2/3 innings and a less-than-dominant Jose Fernandez was still plenty good enough to lead the Marlins past the Mets, 7-2, on Saturday night at Marlins Park. In case you missed it… deGrom (6-5) labored from the start and lasted a season-low 3 2/3 innings while surrendering five runs on 10 hits and a walk. He struck out five and also allowed a moonshot home run off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton, who went 4-for-5 with three RBIs. The Mets took a 2-1 lead off Jose Fernandez in the third after falling behind a half inning earlier. deGrom led off with a double and came home later in the inning on Yoenis Cespedes' bloop single to right.
