First it was "no thanks" to John Lackey, and now it appears the Dodgers are saying, "I don't think so" to the possibility of adding Roy Halladay to the roster.

The Dodgers have identified an ace pitcher as their greatest desire this offseason, but they aren't willing to go over the top to add an anchor to a rotation that was desperate for a leading man during the just-concluded season.

First came the comments from unidentified sources that Lackey's contract demands as a free agent would be too imposing. Reports indicate Lackey is looking for something similar to the five-year, $82.5 million contract A.J. Burnett got from the Yankees.

More recently, the Los Angeles Times cited more unnamed sources as saying a trade with the Blue Jays to land Halladay appears...

His agent Scott Boras informed general manager Ned Colletti of the decision, which Ramirez had until this month to make.
