Volquez went six innings, giving up a lone run on seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Volquez, 33, is earning $9.5 million this season and can become a free agent after the season if his team chooses to buy him out for $3 million instead of picking up their end of his $10 million mutual option for 2017.
