      <description> &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The first big decision of the Reds' offseason will be which players they will offer arbitration.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The club has five players eligible: outfielders Jonny Gomes and Laynce Nix, catcher Corky Miller and right-handers Nick Masset and Jared Burton.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Reds certainly will offer contracts to Masset and Burton. Masset went 5-1 with a 2.37 ERA and held opponents to a .203 average. Burton struggled early but ended up 1-0 with a 4.40 ERA after a stint on disabled list dealing with asthma.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Gomes had a solid year. He hit .267 with 20 home runs and 51 RBIs in 281 at-bats. He'd seem like a lock to be offered a contract, but the Reds are probably going to cut their payroll, which was $73.9 million at the beginning of the 2009 season.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;That likely will mean if Nix and Miller...</description>
