Braves Rally With 4 Runs in 6th, Beat Marlins 8-5

Pinch-hitter Brandon Snyder had two RBIs in a four-run sixth inning and the Atlanta Braves rallied for an 8-5 victory over the Miami Marlins on Thursday night. Miami, which began the day a half-game ahead of two teams in the NL wild-card race, has allowed 25 runs in losing its last three games. The Marlins dropped to 2-7 against Atlanta this year. The Braves improved to just 12-32 at Turner Field. They have the NL's worst overall record, the majors' worst home record and the least productive offense in the big leagues, but they took a 6-3 lead in the sixth. Jeff Francoeur's double chased Marlins starter Wei-Yin Chen, and Mike Dunn gave up Erick Aybar's RBI infield single, Snyder's two-run go-ahead

Clayton Kershaw will go on the disabled list with a back injury

Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw received an epidural for his ailing back on Wednesday and will be placed on the 15-day disabled list, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports. McCullough adds that the Dogers hope to get Kershaw back after the All-Star break. Kershaw, 28, struggled in his most recent start, allowing four runs in six innings to the Pirates, walking two batters in a start for the first time this season while striking out only four. His overall numbers are still ridiculous, though, as he stands with an 11-2 record, a 1.79 ERA, and a 145/9 K/BB ratio in 121 innings. Per McCullough, the Dodgers haven’t yet named a starter for Friday, which would have been Kershaw’s next start.
