“RustyThe Texas Rangers need a new hitting instructor and it appears that the guy who has the second-highest on-base percentage in the team's history is in the running for the job, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Rusty Greer spent more than a decade with the team and had a .301 career batting average. He's apparently discussed the possibility of becoming the team's hitting instructor with general manager Jon Daniels in recent days.
Greer has been out of the majors for a few years, giving hitting instruction privately and with the Texas Collegiate League.

The Rangers are apparently expected to have its list of finalists for the gig pared down by week's end.

Big Mac returned to the Cards as a hitting coach...I would think the Rangers should counter with Palmeiro :)

Love to see Rusty Greer back as a coach. He can teach these modern day players, who think they know it all, the science of good hitting. Good Luck! Rusty

Rusty would make a good hitting coach. Rusty hit for average and power when needed. The return of La Grande Orange would make a great story.

Go get Will Clark. He was a terrific hitter, was a valuable part of the Rangers playoff run in 98-00, and he would be a terrific addition to the clubhouse.

I agree about Will Clark. The man could hit, he knew how to play the game and was a great club house motivator but he might not sit well with Mr. Washington. Will was not one to down play poor results or poor play.
Neither would Rusty. I think both might be a thorn in the side of Mr. Sunshine and Roses.

Why not find room for Will Clark AND Rusty Greer. Both would be great additions to the clubhouse and bench.
