As if watching the Philadelphia Phillies win the World Series wasn't enough incentive for the New YorkMets, listening to Jimmy Rollins take a jab at them during Saturday's parade in Philly should be.
Rollins brought up Mets ace Johan Santana to boos, before declaring, "It takes more than one player to bring home a championship," to the massive crowd's delight.
"When you're the champions and win like that, you have every right to be confident," Wright said. "You can say what you like. You've earned that right. That's not necessarily my style or a style we would go with, but again, they've earned that right."
The Mets have suffered huge breakdowns the past two Septembers to miss the playoffs, while the Phillies have won the NL East each time.
Last year, they wasted a seven-game lead in the NL East with 17 to play in a collapse of historic proportions. This past season, the Mets led the NL East by 3-1/2 games as late as Sept. 10.
"In 2007, we gave it away," Wright said. "(In 2008), we couldn't get the job done. You've got to take advantage of opportunities. It's a tough way to learn a lesson. Both are somewhat missed opportunities."

On the first game these two teams play, I would love to see the Met pitcher throw over the head of Rollins. I'd also like to see them brush back Chase Utley because the umpires still haven't done anything about him keeping his elbow in the strikezone.

NY fans say philly fans have no class but there wasn't any rioting among the 2-3 million people that celebrated in that parade the other day. You think there would have been no problems in a parade of 3 million in ny? That's a laugher.
Winners get to gloat. Get into the post-season mets, and then talk. Also, I don't care that Rollins said that thing about frontrunners. Read the whole quote. That's not really what he meant. We won and none of this negativity in the media can take that away.

Rollins needs to go?!?! You're an idiot that needs to have their Philadelphia Phillies fan rights revoked for even making a comment like that.
