It appears the Colorado Rockies will be without closer Huston Street(notes) until at least mid-May, according to the Denver Post. He was apparently hoping to be back by May 1 but the team is apparently slowing down its plans for him in hopes that it will put a dent in any chances for re-injury.
Street got a second opinion on what's wrong with his injured right shoulder from Dr. James Andrews earlier this week and the word is that it's inflammation without structural damage.
Street is apparently going to do a bunch of strengthening exercises before he's even allowed to play a game of catch. That will elongate his recovery time, putting his best-case scenario at mid-May. Of course, that could all change if the injury still exists when he finally does start throwing.
