Red Sox would be No.1 on A-Rod's list

Citing sources close to Alex Rodriguez, the Boston Globe reported Sunday that if Rodriguez could handpick the team he plays for, the Boston Red Sox might be No. 1 on his list.

According to The Globe, the source said Rodriguez would love to play for the Sox because he thinks they can win multiple championships.

Also, agent Scott Boras has been pleasantly surprised with the early interest in Rodriguez. "Several teams have expressed an interest and there have been a couple of surprise teams I never expected to hear from," he said. Boras would not reveal any names (one of the surprise teams is thought to be the Marlins).

Would Red Sox nation accept him? Will he play shortstop?

No!! I dont want this selfish, money hungry, playoff run killer on my sox. Sign Lowell, find a real short stop, and let crisp go somewhere, I'll be happy.

A-Rod may be a great player but he does not fit in to the way that the RED SOX play,A-Rod plays for himself and not for the team, the red sox don't need that.

Even though I am a die hard Sox fan- I wish that Scott Boras and A-rod get to see what it's like to play in the Mexican league for the next 3 years.

Come on, Mike Lowell is perfect for the sox, and A-Rod would be a cancer in the club house. We would offically become the 'Evil Empire' part Deux with A-Rod!

No No No No No No No No No No No No No. Pay Mike Lowell anything he wants. Screw A-Rod and his me first attitute. Mr April doesn't belong on a team. He should be forced to play all the positions by himself. He would then see he isnt as wonderful as he would like people to think. He doesnt need to die, but he does need to go away!

A-Rod, you can have him....... At least Manny being Manny results in run on the board. A-Rod being A-Rod results in a person more interseted in individual stats and awards than Championships. A-Rod wants $350 Million for 10 years. What a joke from a choke.

HE WON"T FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET HIM AND BORAS GO ROB A BANK SOMEWHERE. Can't wait for the World Series to be over before, before THE big announcement. That's as much class as his wife's vulgar t-shirt a recent game. With all the classless antics with these people, you can see their up bringing. Boston doesn't need this sort of baggage. Boston won because the worked for it and deserved it. The proof is WHO HAS THE TROPHY TODAY? CindyC- Your Correct!

Posters 9 and 10 have it exactly right. Arod is a virus, would destroy a team with great chemistry. We should resign Lowell and get either another good starter or good prospects for Crisp.

well of course the Sox would be #1 on HIS list.... we just won the world series. that's all the poor guy wants :'( awww poor a-rod.... wants to join a real team that knows how to win.
if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
he's tried to BE the reason a team wins before (3 seperate times) now, he realizes he just needs to jump onto the most successful team currently...at least he'd be able to say on a (defending) world championship team! hahaha

As a Yankee fan...congrats to Red Sox. As for A-Rod and Boras, I hope no one offers them the ridiculous money they're asking for. NO TEAM NEEDS A-Rod.

The Sox win a pennant and World Series for the 2nd time in 4 years. They are a sellout every game. What could possibly motivate John Henry and Theo Epstein or Larry Luchino to contemplate doing business with Scott Boras?Much too riskywith very little reward.A-Rod received poor advice to abort his existing contract and hopefully will end up having to take a reduced wage if the owners have their wits about them.
