I wouldn't give up Pagan for this guy. Part time player, defense only so far, but ask for less and I would consider it. FIRST!!!

angel pagan is a good player with future potential as a met player or a future trading chip for somebody worth trading for, crisp is not that player, coco has no offense which right now the mets need a bat with alot of pop,and for center fielding he might be as good as a healthy beltran.hope this stays as a rumor only

Pagan was traded FROM the mets to the cubs for cash a couple of years ago. The guy is on a hot streak, and isn't very good. Only reason that the Sox would make that trade would be to unload salary. Trust me, Pagan is not for real.

This is a guy with a total of 318 ML ABs. How can anyone tell if he is for real or not?? And why should I trust you, Adam?? Are you psychic?? Are you a professional scout??

I say give Pagan a chance to fill in for Alou. He's still young and could develop into a very good player. He has showed a little pop and he is a valuable fourth outfielder. Crisp is overpaid and overrated.

Hey Jerry R I don't know if you watched baseball last year but Crisp is still a huge contender in center field. How many times did he make sportscenter's top 10 plays. He plays with all his heart just wish he could hit as well as he catches. If there's a team out there looking to boost their defence, he's definately one to look at.

I like Crisp, he is a great defender and he definitely will be more consistent than Pagan offensively. pagan may have more of an upside but Pagan is 28 in June and Crisp just turned 30. I don't know if the mets should bank on this guy in a year like this year because they need a right-handed bat off the bench and Crisp will definitely help. Pagan might be able to help but i wouldnt be upset if the mets went for the sure thing here. And when Alou gets back, Crisp and Church can platoon in right. Chavez can give Alou days off. You could do that with Pagan too but if Alou is out for any longer i don't know if Pagan will be able to carry the load for a season.

We don't want no cereal at Shea! Lets groom some of our young talant. In the mean time, Pagan may just develop into a real player.
Maybe if Coco's cousin Frosted Flakes was available...I heard he's GGRREAT!

if you want to groom young talent, bring in crisp and then bring up fernando martinez. Pagan isnt really young anymore. he's 28 and crisp is 30. Pagan is fresh out of the minors but not due to age, its because he wasnt ready. Crisp is already developed and won't be a work in progress. this isnt the year to risk it. fernando martinez is young talent like reyes and wright were a few years ago. Pagan is already almost 5 years older than reyes and wright and they are 5 times better than pagan already.

#15 where did you hear that coco crisp could get traded for Matt Cain? that wouldnt happen in a million years. why would San Fran trade a 23 year old starting pitcher earning rookie money for a 30 year old overpaid coco crisp. the mets wont mind paying too much for him because he can help them win. san fran has omar visquel, rich aurilia, dave roberts, randy wynn etc. they are desperately trying to get younger and there is no chance that they would trade one of there best young pitchers for coco crisp. keep dreaming but that would definitely get their GM fired. If that were to happen. the mets should talk to them and maybe get Tim Lincecum for Brady Clark

Theo is already considered the best GM in baseball, if he pulled off a deal for Cain...wow. it would be tough to argue that he's not the best. I don't blame you for wanting Cain but the reason i don't see it happening is you have Becket, Dice K, Lester, Bucholz, Wakefield/Schilling. Cain doesnt really have a spot. you could put wakefield in the pen but you still have Schilling to deal with when he gets back from injury. even though he's old he is still very valuable to the red sox post season. he is one of the best big-game pitchers in mlb history.

hey dave I think the only way that trade happens is they not only would have to trade coco but probably clay or lester and probably another prospect too.

If they traded Clay or Lester that would be ridiculous. Cain isnt nearly as good as either of them. If i were Theo they would be close to untouchable to me. only for someone like Santana, Beckett or Sabathia would i think about moving them. And Since they already have Beckett, i don't know if i would consider it at all.

The Mets do not need Crisp...we need a first baseman. Real bad !! Check out Delgado..5 at bats..5 strike outs...and he is "just a little rusty" the Mets say. This is the Mets glaring weakness..without Alou in the line-up and Delgado hitting 5th ????. Wake -up Omar and get somebody with pop to play first base otherwise Willie's first big decision of the year will be having to sit Delgado (if he is not hurt) or play him and provide opposing teams with a VERY pitchable line-up. If Willie waits half the season to sit Delgado it will cost the Mets and Willie. If Omar doesn't have a player ready to plug in that Willie can go to...then its on him. Delgado clogs up the bases..it takes three hits to score him from first..his fielding is poor..his arm is weak and his hitting is now mostly ground ball singles thru the shift they play against him. Its past the time to address this. I would rather see Shawn Green standing a first base...oh..could the Mets get Nady back? ok..I'm done..laughing..... GO METS !!

Tony, there may be a lot of Latino players on the mets but what does it matter if they win. if you look at the top 50 hitters in baseball, a lot are latino. you got your a-rod, pujols, miguel cabrera, jose reyes, carlos beltran, david ortiz, manny ramirez, alfonso soriano, carlos lee, magglio ordonez, pudge rodriguez, carlos guillen, vladimir guerrero, hanley ramirez, arasmis ramirez, victor martinez etc. And thats just hitters, dont forget about the Johan Santanas, Francisco Lirianos, and Carlos Zambranos. Bottom line: I don't care if every player is Latino as long as they play hard, who cares where theyre from.
