MLB - Scoop Du Jour

The New York Yankees have been waiting all offseason to hear from Andy Pettitte(notes) on whether or not he's going to pull on pinstripes again this season.

Sports Illustrated reports that the team has already or will offer Pettitte $12 million to take the mound for the Bronx Bombers one more time. Pettitte made $11.75 million last year.

The lefty went 11-3 in 21 starts last season and has won 240 games in his career. The Yanks, of course, would love to add Pettitte to a pitching corps that currently includes A.J. Burnett(notes), Phil Hughes(notes), Sergio Mitre(notes), Ivan Nova(notes), CC Sabathia(notes), and new addition Bartolo Colon(notes).

NBC's HardballTalk reports that it's a "very strong possibility" that Pettitte won't retire just yet and will return to the Yanks this season.
