Pedro Martinez(notes) did a great job in the 44.2 regular-season (and 10 postseason) innings he pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies last year, but it doesn't look like the two will be linking up for another run this year, according to

In the end, Martinez may not link up with any team. The site reports that he hasn't even thrown off a mound yet, but that didn't stop Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. from checking in with Pedro's agent, Fernando Cuza, recently. "Only Pedro could say when he'd be ready," Amaro told the site. "I'm sure he knows, but I couldn't tell you."

The Phils are hoping young hurler J.A. Happ(notes) can return to form, the site reports, and are also looking for pitching help outside the organization.
