Before the July 31 non-waiver trading deadline, Baltimore Orioles infielder Ty Wigginton's(notes) name came up more than a few times in rumors as plenty of teams looked for infield help (such as the injury-depleted Philadelphia Phillies).
Now teams may have a second chance to get the 32-year-old Wigginton, who is batting .260 with 18 homers and 60 RBIs. The Boston Globe is reporting that Wigginton has been put on waivers by the O's.
Wigginton has already had a decent tour of major league cities in his eight-year career. He's had multi-year stints with the New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays, Houston Astros and the Orioles.
