With less than a month before spring training, the Cleveland Indians' Grady Sizemore(notes) or Fausto Carmona(notes) may need to change their travel plans. MASN reports that the Washington Nationals have had conversations with the Tribe front office about trading for Carmona or Sizemore.
Carmona, who went 13-14 last season with a 3.77 ERA, is under contract with the Indians till 2014. He'd be a nice addition to the Nationals' rotation that also recently added Tom Gorzelanny(notes) through a trade with the Chicago Cubs.
Sizemore, who will make $7.5 million this season and has a $8.5 million club option for 2012, has had a couple of injury-filled seasons. He's hoping to be healthy in 2011. Last year, he hit .211 with no homers and 13 RBIs in the 33 games he played. But the 28-year-old is also a three-time All-Star, the last time being in 2008. That year, he also won a Silver Slugger Award and a Gold Glove. He hit 33 homers that year along with 90 RBIs and 38 stolen bases.
