Milton Bradley returning to Cubs?

“MiltonDisgruntled outfielder Milton Bradley(notes) made it clear that he didn't like the fans in Chicago at season's end, which of course made Chicago fans dislike him that much more. So everybody has been expecting Cubs GM Jim Hendry to unload Bradley and the remaining two years of his contract this off-season. But now Hendry is saying that Bradley could stay on Chicago's North Side, according to MLB.com.

Hendry is saying that he isn't giving up on the idea of Bradley as a Cub, which must mean he hasn't gotten a lot of good trade offers. Hendry practically urges folks to treat Bradley as if he's still with the Cubs (since he is and may continue to be).

"Other people have had some major hiccups along the way and come back," Hendry said, "and that's just how you have to look at it. He's on your roster until proven differently. That's how we go about it."

You'd be disgruntled too if your name was Milton Bradley. His father supposedly really wanted a junior and filled out his son's birth certificate without showing it to his mother at all. Very smooth move.

I sure hope this rumor isn't true! Meltdown Bradley should start fresh, somewhere else, or return to Texas with a disount. It had appeared he had burnt all of his bridges in Chicago.
Maybe Hendry just can't find any takers for Bradley. He's stuck with him. Good Luck!

"...He's on your roster until proven differently"? What the hell is that supposed to mean? Hendry apparently isn't much of a wordsmith when it comes to giving quotes about awkward situations. I won't even go into Miller's non sequitur in the last paragraph.

I honestly cannot tell if Hendry has no idea he controls the roster to an extent or if he really thinks Bradley is a decent ball player. Either way, Hendry deserves to be committed.

Bradley needs to go. All he can do is DH. Get rid of him. Mark Derosa is a free agent, get him back

DeRosa is a fan favorite, but more than likely won't be back unless he is willing to take a lot less. Forget about it... also forget about the KWood rumors... ain't happening!!! As for Bradley, I was one of few that kept saying give him a chance until the last incident. With that I say he needs to be gone. If Hendry can not get rid of him, it's understandable, but he has to make it work. Even if he does nothing else. If Bradley is back as a Cub and playing at the beginning of the season, Hendry should be fired immediately. You made the mistake you fix it... and now!!!

They say there is a sucker born every minute. That's what the Cubs would need to find to unload Bradley.

I think all was proven at the end of the season, Without bradley the Cubs played better simple as that. If Hendry can't trade him release him NOW! Eat the Money, we don't need to spend anything just use what we have! The only one we'd need to replace id Harden and I'm sure we have a prospect or two that could fill the spot(look at what Wells did last year). If we need a boost at the trading deadline then think about picking up something. All I know is I will no longer support a team with a player like Bradley , If he hasn't grown up by now he never will.

I think it would be better for Milton to start a new so where else. Winning back the fans could be difficult if not impossible. He would have to have a monster year to get the fans back. The problem is that Milton has been a lot of teams and any other team has to see that he has a history with his temper.

Milton Bradley is a cancer that needs to be removed from Chicago at all costs. Is he worth another year of clubhouse destruction? Who would want to play with this overrated idiot? Cut out the cancer! Even a somewhat promising minor league prospect would be the "chemo treatment"

Blupit7 if you are saying he sucks as a person than yes I agree with you. However he doesnt suck at baseball and if you disagree you are the retard. He had a bad year at the plate, but that is 1 season after he was one of the best hitters in all of baseball in 08.

Bradley's signing should have cost Hendry his job...all the warning signs were there; attitude, poor def. etc. Just another immovable contract to eat rather than addressing a team need. I say ride it out, it's better than eating $10 mil in salary and getting Burrell or Castillo who are lesser hitters. Jaramillo should be a huge help to Lou and Bradley this year.

I was okay with Bradley, until he played the race card. No, Milton, you were not being booed because you were black, you were being booed because you don't know how many outs there are and you're being paid 10 million dollars to know that. You were being booed because our back up 2nd baseman, and a mid season call up, both drove in more runs than you did. And if the boos were all race related,,,how do you explain Kevin Gregg? Cub fans don't boo players because of their color, they boo players who do not produce!
