The New York Mets Tuesday signed free agent right-handed pitcher Matt Wise to a one-year contract the New York Post reported.
Wise, 32, went 3-2 with one save and a 4.19 ERA in a career-high 56 games last year for Milwaukee. In 53 2/3 innings, the 6-4, 200-pounder allowed 61 hits, 30 runs, with 17 walks and 43 strikeouts.
"Matt has had success in a variety of roles," Omar Minaya said. "He adds a versatile arm to the bullpen."

overall, WIse replaces Mota and improves the bullpen and isn't long term like the schoewiess deal (2 more years, ugggg), and considering how weak the market is, this was a good move.

And Met fans, we get Dauner back as well, hopefully we have a bullpen that can actually get through an inning
