MLB - Scoop Du Jour

After six seasons in the Windy City, free-agent reliever Bobby Jenks(notes) looks to be moving to the Sunshine State. Word is that Jenks is getting close to a deal with the Tampa Bay Rays.

How close is another matter. NBC Sports reports that the deal was so close it could have been signed Wednesday night, while the St. Petersburg Times reported that the deal wasn't going to happen Wednesday night. The Times reports that Jenks is still in discussion with other teams as well.

The two-time All-Star didn't have a great year for the Sox last season, going 1-3 with a 4.44 ERA. Still, he had 27 saves and struck out 61 in 52.2 innings.

The Rays must be hoping a new environment will help Jenks return to his 2007 form when he shut down 41 straight batters in 14 appearances over 27 days.
