Jamie McCourt wants to take over Dodgers

“FrankLos Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt is in a bit of a pickle. His team had a great season but he and his wife, Jamie, are very publicly separated and she apparently would like to own the baseball team instead of him, according to the Los Angles Times. Actually, both sides already claim that they are the actual owners of the club.

Frank fired Jamie as CEO of the team this week and now Jamie is apparently trying to line up investors so she can try to take over sole ownership of the club. The Times reports that she has contacted a few "prominent baseball figures" to figure out the direction of the team.

"Jamie is disappointed and saddened by her termination," attorney Dennis Wasser said Thursday to the paper. "As co-owner of the Dodgers, she will address this and all other issues in the courtroom."

Looks like it's going to be a long and interesting off-season for the Dodgers.

it was so dumb of him to fire her cause that will piss her off. she's done a lot for the team and because of her termination, in court she could actually take over the dodgers....

    They are both selfish.
There was no need to make their public statement of them separating prior to NLCS.

I would imagine the deal is that he had to fire her to show that he is legally in charge, not to mention the fact he didn't want her around and it was probably confusing for employees as to who to listen to. But in terminating her, he could show in court that he was in control and her ownership stake is only a financial one.

Man....when Frank gave this power, money hungry woman the title of Vice President....i fuggin knew down the line something like this was gonna happen. Boy I sure do miss the days of the O'Malley ownership. I am surprised the Dodgers have done as well as they have since this Boston Bozo bought the team. Now the lady is saying she wants ownership and control of the team?????? wtf? please Lord, don't let this happen. We all know what happens to teams that are ran by women.....Schott or Frontierre ring a bell? i know that will sound sexist to any females who read this, but it is the truth. sorry ........anyways...I just hope Frank has a great lawyer and can keep her nose TOTALLY out of the team affairs in the aftermath of the divorce final. If not, i pray for a sell of the team to some competent, sports minded people. BTW...i have been scolded by a few East Coast friends of from these rumors for me cheering for the Phils against Yanks or Angels in World Series. Here are my reasons. 1) I am a total NL fan, all the way.. NOTE:one time i cheered for AL, Angels vs. Giants....fugg the Giants! 2) I DO NOT like the Yankees or Angels...asking me to cheer for one of those is like asking me if I wanna get hung or shot!!!! and 3) the most important argument.......I can cheer for the team who just beat my DOdgers. I did for them last year too. AND???? which makes me refer back to number one....I will always be a NL fan! Let's go Phils!
