The New York Mets aren't the only team asking after Jason Bay(notes) right now, according to FOXSports. There are apparently three other teams negotiating with the outfielder in the hopes of giving their fans a nice powerful holiday gift.
The Seattle Mariners (who have had a pretty killer offseason already), the San Francisco Giants, and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (who are playing serious catch-up right now with the Mariners) are the three other teams that are supposedly still in on the talks for Bay.
The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox both appear to be monitoring the situation. Neither is expected to get involved and get Bay for next year but both are always ready to surprise the other with sneak attacks. Bay supposedly has an offer from the Mets for four years and around $65 million. He wants a fifth year. It remains to be seen if any of these other teams will give it to him.
