Los Angeles Dodgers closer Jonathan Broxton(notes) has been on the disabled list with a bone spur in his right elbow since May 4. He was scheduled to pitch for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes Sunday but was scratched after Broxton felt some stiffness in his elbow while playing catch Saturday, according to The Press-Enterprise.
In the 14 games Broxton has pitched in this season, he is 1-2 with seven saves, one blown save, 10 strikeouts in 12.2 innings pitched, and a 5.68 ERA.
"It kind of tells you he's not ready," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said, the paper reports. "He kind of felt stiffness in the same spot."
