The Chicago Cubs are renewing their efforts to trade outfielder Jacque Jones after deciding Sunday to promote Felix Pie to be their everyday center fielder.

Jones, a left-handed hitter, should get plenty of playing time in right this week; the Cubs likely will face right-handers in six of their seven games against the Milwaukee Brewers and Atlanta Braves.

Cliff Floyd, the team's other left-handed hitting outfielder, has been out since last Wednesday due to inflammation of cartilage in his rib cage.
