After meeting with agent Scott Boras, Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said he's moving on without free agent Derek Lowe, according to MLB.com.
"I don't believe Derek Lowe will pitch for the Dodgers next year," said Colletti, who this week discussed interest in top free-agent pitcher CC Sabathia.
Lowe has said the main requirement for his signing is a team committed to win. Colletti has said recently that he believed Lowe did not want to return to the Dodgers and nothing came out of the Monday night meeting with Boras to indicate otherwise.
Lowe, who is marrying former sportscaster Carolyn Hughes this weekend in Michigan, last week said he isn't convinced the Dodgers will make the moves needed to be a post-season force year after year, even though he said his agent has tried to convince him that Los Angeles might be the best place for him to pitch.
