Colletti says Lowe is done as a Dodger

After meeting with agent Scott Boras, Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti said he's moving on without free agent Derek Lowe, according to MLB.com.

"I don't believe Derek Lowe will pitch for the Dodgers next year," said Colletti, who this week discussed interest in top free-agent pitcher CC Sabathia.

Lowe has said the main requirement for his signing is a team committed to win. Colletti has said recently that he believed Lowe did not want to return to the Dodgers and nothing came out of the Monday night meeting with Boras to indicate otherwise.

Lowe, who is marrying former sportscaster Carolyn Hughes this weekend in Michigan, last week said he isn't convinced the Dodgers will make the moves needed to be a post-season force year after year, even though he said his agent has tried to convince him that Los Angeles might be the best place for him to pitch.

Now if only this GM was smart enough to realize his mustache has been dead for 25 years. This guy is an idiot. You could resign Manny or Lowe if you hadn't given Andruw Jones all that money.

Fugg Lowe........he sux. He pitches like a .500 pitcher all year, than come September he wants to turn up the level. Let hm go back to Boston where he belongs. Good riddance and dont forget you Adult ADD meds. You're gonna need them. Cuz wherever you go, life isnt gonna be as easy as living in L.A. I won;t miss you puto!

Colletti is being smarter than his mustache looks. Look at the last four years and the contracts the Dodgers have given out, Schmidt, Jones, Nomar, these have been big contracts given to players who did not live up to them. You want to take that chance with Lowe, a guy who thinks the Dodgers aren't commited to winning? No they are just not commited to giving him 4yrs and 60 million. The problem is Scott Boras, always has been and always will be. Hey at least we resigned Blake and got a quality utility man like Loretta. We can still run at Furcal, and maybe C.C. Plus the kids, Kemp, Martin, Either, Loney, Dewitt, they are getting older and better. Future looks bright, with or without Manny and Lowe!

Last years home game against the Pirates I sat directly behind the Dodgers Dugout and and was giving it to Ethier all night about how much of a stud he is and how he should be our everyday starting outfielder, then around the 8th inning Derek Lowe comes out of nowhere and starts running his mouth about how Ethier can hear me an blah blah, so I let Derek know that he will never be our staff ace, and always will be #2 at best. And his only slump of his contract year came immediately following our talk...Bottom line is that he is a class act a s s h o l e who doesnt deserve to pitch on the west coast!

Fow Lowe not wanting to come back to the Dodgers because they're not commited to making moves that will make the team a force year after year in the playoffs. Then why did he leave the Red Sox 4 years ago? I guess he thought after winning the World Series with the Red Sox in 2004 they weren't going to be a force anytime soon afterwards.... Ha!

Everyone talks about the Yankees spending the money to make the best team they can get on the field. The Dodgers hope some fading players will pull great flash from the past years at the same time. That committment to hope and good fortune is not what Lowe is looking for-who can blame him? With a smarter GM and stronger ownership, Lowe would consider staying.

Lowe is overrated. He gives up way too many hr's for a sinkerball pitcher. He's barely a 500 pitcher the last 4 years. Let him go. Just go away and rob another team of money. He did NOTHiNG in LA except get a new wife! Go away and don't come back , just like Just Dreadful Drew!
