Atlanta Braves starter Tim Hudson(notes) is apparently getting close to signing a three-year extension worth about $3 million annually, according to FOXSports.com
Hudson could make more dough than that on the free-agent market but apparently would like to stay in Atlanta so much that he's willing to discount himself. The deal is supposedly going to get done before week's end. Not bad for a guy who spent most of 2009 recovering from Tommy John surgery and going 2-1 with a 3.61 ERA.
This likely means the Braves will trade away Javier Vazquez(notes) or Derek Lowe(notes) this winter for a quality bat.

Cliff Lee dominated the Yankees last night if Pedro wins tonight and thats a big if the Yankees will be in huge trouble, i don't see the Yankees figuring out Cliff Lee at all that guy has pitched better then CC and we all know how good CC has pitched this season and the playoffs.

If the Braves trade both Vaquewz and Lowe they won't finish no better then 3rd next year in the NL East.
Unless they have some deal for Offense then the Braves should take it because they can't hit worth a Lick if there life depended on it.

Yea Phil Hughes has been struggling the most part of these playoffs i madea comment about him looking rattled and he still hasn't figured it out.
I thought Marte did a good job for the Yankees last night getting Utley and Howard out in the 8th.
I didn't understand why Joe Giradi didn't bring in phil Coke to face Raul Ibanez instead of letting DAvid Roberston pitch to him.
That move didn't make much sense at all.
