The Houston Astros have said that outfielder Hunter Pence(notes) won't be moved before Sunday's non-waiver trade deadline, but stranger things have happened.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Braves are still considering making an offer for Pence, the 28-year-old two-time All-Star who is hitting .308 with 11 homers, 62 RBIs and 48 runs scored.

Chipper Jones(notes), who returned to the lineup Monday, said that he'd feel fine about the team's chances if no trades were made before the deadline, the paper reports: “I don’t have a problem standing pat,” Jones said. “I think we have a really good ballclub. Obviously any team would love an injection of new blood, especially top-notch quality. To be honest, I don’t see where we are going to go out and better the ballclub every-day lineup-wise. You say what you want about the [Carlos] Beltrans and the [Hunter] Pences and the [Ryan] Ludwicks, people like that, but everybody in our lineup contributes to our success each and every day."
