MLB - Scoop Du Jour

A poorly timed torn flexor tendon in the right elbow will earn you a season without a team. At least that's what it did for Ben Sheets(notes).

Sheets apparently had a deal in place last winter with the Texas Rangers, but his injury destroyed any chance of that happening, according to ESPN.

Now, six to 10 teams are interested in the 31-year-old and will send reps to watch him throw whatever heat he's got at the University of Louisiana. One of those teams is supposedly the Chicago Cubs. One thing is clear on Sheets: He really wants to be back in the majors and will do whatever it takes to get back there.

The problem is that Sheets supposedly wants around $10 million or $12 million to be in somebody's rotation. And nobody is going to pay him that.
