Indians 4, Braves (ss) 3
It was the second homer of spring training for Jones, who returned to the lineup this week after being held out for almost a week with a sore muscle on his right side.
Garko drove in three runs, including one against Buddy Carlyle—the first one the Atlanta right-hander has given up this spring. Garko’s RBI single and Jhonny Peralta’s sacrifice fly in the first snapped Carlyle’s string of 10 consecutive scoreless innings.
Garko hit a two-run homer off Tyler Yates in the fifth to erase a 3-2 Atlanta lead. The 26-year-old first baseman is batting .296 with a team-high 10 RBIs, but still might not make Cleveland’s opening-day roster.
