TUCSON, Ariz. (AP)—Dave Krynzel went 4-for-4 with a home run to lead the Milwaukee Brewers past the Chicago White Sox 11-0 on Friday.

Jeff Cirillo and Trent Durrington had three hits apiece for the Brewers, who broke through in the fifth inning with five runs against Damaso Marte. Milwaukee finished with 16 hits.

Freddy Garcia pitched three scoreless innings for Chicago before the Brewers knocked around the White Sox bullpen, scoring all 11 runs in the final five innings. Marte allowed five hits, five runs, a walk and hit a batter while recording two outs.

Brewers’ starter Gary Glover blanked his former team for five innings, giving up just three hits. The White Sox had even less luck against the Brewers’ bullpen, getting just one hit over the last four innings.

Chicago played former second baseman Willie Harris at shortstop. The White Sox signed Japanese second baseman Tadahito Iguchi during the offseason, leaving Harris’ role with the club in doubt.

Harris, who has not played shortstop in the majors, made one diving stop to prevent a hit but also had an error.

“I feel I can do the job over there. It is still going to take a lot more work to get familiar with it,” Harris said. “I feel pretty comfortable. It is still a different angle making throws.”
