“It was 1-0, I’m thinking maybe I should take a strike here, or a chance of walking to lead off the inning but Millwood’s got too good a stuff to take one, especially if it’s down the middle,” Stynes said. “The ball just didn’t’ move, it stayed right there.”
Helton homered for the second straight day.
“We just came up short the last two games,” Philadelphia manager Larry Bowa said. “Millwood pitched good here, four runs in this park that’s a pretty good outing.”
Millwood (11-8) was reached for four runs and six hits in eight innings. He is 3-2 with a 3.34 ERA in six career starts at Coors Field.

Stynes homered to lead off the seventh. He had gone 91 at-bats since his last homer on June 30 against Arizona.
“He was throwing me a lot of sliders the whole game and he was throwing good ones,” Stynes said. “I know if you asked him, he’d say he hung one.”
“I made one bad pitch and that was to Stynes,” Millwood said. “Other than that, I thought I put the ball where I wanted to. I thought I threw a prettygood game.”
