Johan Santana will try to match his career high with his 10th straight victory as the AL Central-leading Minnesota Twins complete a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.

Santana has won eight consecutive starts and is 9-0 with a 1.51 ERA since the All-Star break. The Venezuelan left-hander won 10 in a row from Aug. 3, 2003 to May 13 of this year.

Santana closed in on the feat with Friday’s 2-0 home win over Kansas City in which he threw a no-hitter through six innings. He allowed one hit in seven innings and struck out 11, raising his AL-leading strikeout total to 224.

The Cy Young candidate is tied with Oakland’s Tim Hudson with a league-best 2.95 ERA, and his 16 wins, a career high, rank third.

“I feel pretty good, but it’s not just about me,” said Santana, who hasn’t lost since July 11. “We’re winning.”

The Twins bounced back from a series-opening 4-1 loss to win 3-1 on Tuesday.

Mike Cuddyer hit a two-run homer as Minnesota increased its division lead over the Chicago White Sox to 8 1/2 games.

Melvin Mora drove in Baltimore’s lone run with a double, as the Orioles lost for just the second time in their last nine games.

Mora has a homer and 12 RBIs in his last nine contests.
