Perez has been sidelined since June 27 with rotator cuff inflammation and will be activated to make this start. The left-hander has thrown three strong bullpen sessions, including one on Thursday, and the Dodgers decided he did not need a minor league rehab stint.
Perez made his last start on June 26, giving up three earned runs and three hits over five innings in the Dodgers’ 7-5 loss to Anaheim, but did not receive a decision. He has won his last two decisions and has not lost since May 21 against Atlanta.
The Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks 6-2 Friday for their fifth straight win.
Alex Cintron had two hits, including a triple, for the Diamondbacks, who have lost five straight and 21 of their last 25.
“It’s getting to the point, coming in and working hard every day, we’ve been doing it for the last 10 games and we’re not getting the result that we would like,” said manager Al Pedrique, who is 2-10 since taking over for Bob Brenly.
