Randy Wolf was disgusted with his most recent outing.

Off to a discouraging start on their 13-game road trip, the Philadelphia Phillies will need a much stronger effort from their All-Star left-hander when they open a four-game series with the Montreal Expos at Olympic Stadium.

Philadelphia is 1-5 on its longest road trip of the season, and Wolf was dreadful in his lone start during the swing. He lasted just 4 1-3 innings on Wednesday, allowing seven runs and seven hits in a 10-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

“I just got my butt kicked,” Wolf admitted. “In this one, I was just horrible.”

After getting swept in a three-game set at Milwaukee, the Phillies dropped two of three to the St. Louis Cardinals, including Sunday’s 3-0 loss. Philadelphia saw its lead in the NL wild-card race shrink to a half-game over the Florida Marlins.

The Phillies will now have to deal with Expos right-hander Livan Hernandez, who is 3-0 with a 0.84 ERA in his last four starts.

The Expos, who are four games behind the Phillies in the wild-card race, snapped a four-game losing with Sunday’s 8-4 win over San Diego.

Brad Wilkerson homered and drove in three runs and Jose Vidro added a two-run homer for Montreal, which had scored just five runs combined during its skid.
