Mark Buehrle looks to help the Chicago White Sox snap a six-game losing streak as they open a three-game series against the Anaheim Angels at U.S. Cellular Field.

The White Sox lost six of seven on their road trip to fall three games behind Kansas City in the AL Central.

Chicago, which opens a seven-game homestand, is 26-39 on the road, has won 14 of their last 18 at U.S. Cellular Field.

“It was a bad trip,” White Sox manager Jerry Manuel said. “But the good thing is we’re only three games back with a lot of games left. I can’t say that loud enough. I know we’ve got a good run left in us.”

Alex Rodriguez hit his 33rd homer and a tiebreaking two-run triple in the seventh inning as the Texas Rangers completed a three-game sweep of the White Sox with a 6-4 victory on Sunday.

The White Sox are hoping Buehrle can get them back on track.

Buehrle has won five of his last seven decisions, but is 1-2 with a 4.29 ERA over his last three starts.

The 24-year-old left-hander went seven innings, allowing two runs and 10 hits in a 2-1 loss to the Angels on Wednesday. Buehrle is 1-2 with a 4.37 ERA in six appearancesm, including five starts, against Anaheim.

The Angels have won five straight since losing to Chicago 10-4 on Tuesday.

Garrett Anderson hit a two-run double to key a five-run seventh inning as Anaheim beat the Detroit Tigers 11-6 on Sunday. Anderson went 3-for-5 to become the franchise’s career hits leader with 1,591.

The All-Star MVP tied Brian Downing’s club mark for hits with an infield single Saturday night, then broke it in the first inning Sunday with another infield hit.

“It’s something he’s very proud of, and he should be. But I think he would much rather us be in first place than to have that record,” teammate Jarrod Washburn said.
