Shawn Chacon set a Colorado Rockies record with 11 victories before the All-Star break.

He hasn’t won since.

The right-hander looks to snap his prolonged winless streak as the Rockies take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the decisive game of their weekend series at Coors Field.

Chacon entered this season with 11 wins over his first two major league campaigns, but matched that mark over his first 16 starts, going 11-4 with a 3.91 ERA to earn a spot on the NL All-Star team.

But after a 9-0 loss at Pittsburgh on June 29, Chacon was placed on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right elbow. He missed his trip to the Midsummer Classic, and was activated July 19, when he suffered a 5-3 loss to San Francisco.

Chacon is 0-3 with a 5.31 ERA over his last five starts, including Tuesday’s 7-2 loss to Philadelphia. He allowed five runs and six hits over five innings, walking three and striking out just one.

“Shawn got ahead of some hitters and wasn’t able to make quality pitches ahead,” Colorado manager Clint Hurdle said. “His command was off and offensively, they were able to pitch to the meat of our order.”

The Rockies’ three-game win streak was snapped with Saturday’s 10-4 loss, as Reggie Sanders and Brian Giles each hit two-run homers for the Pirates.

Sanders, Giles, Jason Kendall and Jose Hernandez each drove in two runs for the Pirates, who had lost four of five.
