The Arizona Diamondbacks will look to set a new franchise record for consecutive home wins when they meet the San Diego Padres in the finale of their two-game series.

The Diamondbacks have won 11 straight games at Bank One Ballpark, tying the club mark set in May 2000.

They again have Shea Hillenbrand to thank for their most recent victory. Hillenbrand homered and drove in four runs Wednesday to lead Arizona to an 8-3 win in the series opener.

Hillenbrand also set a franchise record Monday with 15 total bases in a 14-6 rout of Colorado. He has 11 hits in his last 14 at-bats, and is hitting .368 in 18 games with Arizona since being acquired from Boston for pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim.

Craig Counsell, Luis Gonzalez and Steve Finley also homered on Wednesday, leading Arizona to its fourth straight win and 18th in its last 21 overall.

The Diamondbacks lead the Philadelphia Phillies by one game in the National League wild-card race. They’ll look to maintain that lead as they try to complete their second straight series sweep and their fifth of the season.

The Padres had won two straight and eight of 10 before Wednesday. They will try to avoid being swept for the seventh time this season.
