Harvey, who had the game-winning hit in the opener Thursday, was 2-for-4. The first baseman has five RBIs in his last five games.
“Our big guys are out now, and collectively as a team everybody’s picking up their game,” said Harvey, who’s been filling in at first base as Sweeney recovers from a back injury. “That’s the sign of a good team.”
“It was great that we battled,” Tigers manager Alan Trammell said. “We normally don’t score that many runs. We gave them a few and made it easier on them.”
