Jason Jennings looks to remain unbeaten at Coors Field as the Colorado Rockies continue their four-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Jennings is one of several Rockies starters having success at home this season.

The 24-year-old right-hander is 4-0 record with a 4.91 ERA in six home starts. Teammate Shawn Chacon has a 7-1 home record, and left-hander Darren Oliver is 4-0 at the hitter-friendly ballpark.

Their success is a big reason why Colorado has the National League’s best home record.

Jennings was 4-1 with a 3.31 ERA in June, and has hit a groove after starting the season with a 3-5 record. He will have his hands full with the surging Diamondbacks, who won 12 straight before a 7-4 loss Tuesday.

“We knew we weren’t going to win the rest of them,” Arizona manager Bob Brenly said. “But it was a real nice run while it lasted. The intention is to come back and start another one.”

The Rockies hit four homers in breaking Arizona’s team-record winning streak. It was the best streak in the majors since the Oakland A’s won 20 straight last Aug. 13-Sept. 4.

Preston Wilson hit a two-run homer and Larry Walker, Jay Payton and Ronnie Belliard added solo shots for Colorado.

“They are playing great baseball, but we are pretty tough at home,” Payton said. “They probably did not have ideas of coming in here and sweeping us in our own park.”

The Rockies placed Chacon was placed on the 15-day disabled list before Tuesdays game. Chacon, the NL leader in wins with 11, has experienced soreness in his pitching elbow in his last three starts.

“We’re looking at the big picture. We need to get his arm healthy—for him and for us,” manager Clint Hurdle said.

Chacon is 11-4 with a 4.27 ERA in 17 starts.
