Player Notes
Braves activated C Evan Gattis from the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: Gattis wound up missing a little over three weeks with a bulging thoracic disc in his back. He hit the ball well on his minor league rehab assignment and will return Monday to an excellent .290/.342/.558 batting line. Gattis has slugged 16 home runs in 63 games.

Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Sunday that barring any setbacks, Evan Gattis (back) is set to return to the Braves lineup on Monday.

Advice: Gattis spent the weekend on a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett. He has been on the shelf since late June due to a bulging disc in his back. Before going on the DL, the White Bear was hitting .290/.342/.558 with 16 homers and 39 RBI in his first 63 games.

Evan Gattis (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday.

Advice: The date had been up in the air, but now it's set. Gattis took batting practice with the Braves' Low-A Rome club for a few days before being cleared for game action. He'll be Gwinnett's designated hitter Thursday and is slated to play 3-4 games there, putting him on pace to be activated Monday at the earliest. Gattis has been out since late June with a bulging disc in his upper back.

Evan Gattis (back) could begin a minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday evening.

Advice: Gattis will need at least three minor league rehab games before returning to the Braves' active roster, so he can probably be ruled out until early next week. The 27-year-old has been out since late June with a bulging disc in his back. He has a .900 OPS and 16 home runs in 63 games this season for Atlanta.

The Braves have yet to decide whether Evan Gattis (back) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Tuesday.

Advice: Gattis has been on the disabled list for just over two weeks due to a bulging thoracic disc in his back in his back, but he resumed taking batting practice in recent days. Still, the Braves could have him wait until Thursday to begin a rehab stint.

Evan Gattis (back) could begin a rehab assignment with High-A Rome as soon as Tuesday.

Advice: Gattis took batting practice Friday for the first time since landing on the disabled list last month with a bulging thoracic disc in his back. He felt good and is almost ready for game action. "He'll do the same (workout) today, and then just keep ramping him up that way," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Saturday morning. "(Rome) doesn't play Monday; they play Tuesday. But we haven't talked about any of that (rehab assignment) stuff yet. Maybe he comes in today and it's gotten a little sore and (he says) I don't want to do all that stuff. But I think it was encouraging what he was able to do (Friday)."
