Player Notes
Khris Davis went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a triple in Wednesday's 9-4 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Davis showed massive power with the Brewers to close the 2015 season, which inspired the Athletics to trade for him this past offseason. One of the biggest concerns has been whether he'll hit for power in Oakland. Despite his big night on the road in Detroit on Wednesday, he's only hitting .154/.214/.192 at O.co Coliseum. It's early, yes, but it has certainly done little to alleviate the concerns that surrounded him coming into the year. Overall, Davis now has a .233 batting average to go with three homers and a 30.8 percent strikeout rate.

Khris Davis hit his first home run of the season in Thursday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: It was a big one, too, as his seventh inning blast gave the A's a lead they wouldn't relinquish. It's been tough sledding for the masher through the season's first few weeks, as he's hit just .180/.226/.260 with 21 strikeouts in 50 at-bats. His new digs surely haven't helped his production, but swinging and missing 29 percent of the time isn't exactly a recipe for success, either.
