Player Notes
Matt Adams singled, ripped a solo homer and scored a pair of runs in Monday's win over the Phillies.

Advice: Adams had one of five longballs on the night for the Cardinals, as he joined Kolten Wong, Aledmys Diaz, Randal Grichuk and Adam Wainwright in going deep. He's homered twice in his last four games and is suddenly sporting a nice .280/.345/.500 batting line after his mini hot streak. Adams will continue to fight for playing time at first base with Brandon Moss.

Matt Adams went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Friday’s loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Adams did most of the heavy lifting for the Cardinals’ offense on Friday, with an RBI single in the first inning and a two-run blast in the eighth inning. Despite his best efforts, St. Louis ended up falling one run short. Adams has mostly struggled in sporadic playing time this season, batting .238/.289/.429 over 22 games. He’s no longer on the radar in mixed fantasy leagues.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi suspects the Blue Jays and Cardinals could become trade partners.

Advice: Toronto lost first baseman Chris Colabello to a PED suspension on Friday and the Cardinals have two first basemen in Matt Adams and Brandon Moss. Adams has struggled this season and had a rough 2015, but he does carry more years of control than Moss and he'd probably do well in a place where he could get starts at DH. Moss, a free agent this winter, has four home runs and 10 RBI in 18 games.
