Player Notes
J.D. Martinez hit his 24th home run of the season, setting a new career high and helping the Tigers bash their way to a win against the Mariners on Monday.

Advice: Martinez went back-to-back with Victor Martinez in the fourth inning and finished 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored on the evening. He has hit consecutively in seven games, homered in three consecutive games, and has homered 11 times in his last 13 games. Named an AL All-Star on Monday, Martinez is batting .290/.344/.573 with 24 home runs and 58 RBI this season.

Mon, Jul 6 Rotoworld
J.D. Martinez homered again, going 1-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Martinez hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. Thus continues his power surge: he's homered 10 times in his last 12 games. Sunday's blast marked his 23rd of the season, matching his career best set last year. Martinez has also knocked in 56 runs while batting .285/.340/.563.

Sun, Jul 5 Rotoworld
J.D. Martinez continued his home run barrage in Saturday's 8-3 victory over the Blue Jays, smashing his 22nd home run of the season.

Advice: The 27-year-old outfielder has now clobbered 12 home runs in his last 18 games. He finished the afternoon 1-for-3 plus a walk and is now slashing .284/.338/.555 with 22 homers and 55 RBI on the season.

Sat, Jul 4 Rotoworld
J.D. Martinez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Thursday afternoon's loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Martinez's three-run shot in the eighth inning drew the Tigers to within 4-3, but the Pirates would score four times in the ninth to sap meaning from the bomb. The homer was his 21st of the season. Martinez hit a fantastic .290/.320/.677 with 11 homers and 26 RBI in the month of June alone and currently holds a season-long slash of .281/.335/.538 with 21 homers and 51 RBI. His career-high for homers in a season is 23. We're going to plant ourselves on a strong limb and say that he surpasses that soon enough.

Thu, Jul 2 Rotoworld
J.D. Martinez went 3-for-4 but it wasn't enough for the Tigers in Wednesday's loss to the Pirates.

Advice: All three hits were singles, and the Tigers weren't able to bring him home even once. Martinez now has back-to-back three-hit nights. He's been red-hot since June 13, clubbing 10 home runs with 21 RBI while batting .365 (23-for-63). On the season, he has 20 home runs, 48 RBI, and a .281/.335/.538 triple-slash line.

Wed, Jul 1 Rotoworld
J.D. Martinez went 3-for-6 with a two-run home run, but the Tigers couldn't overcome the Pirates in 14 innings on Tuesday.

Advice: Martinez belted a two-run home run to left-center off of Tony Watson in the bottom of the eighth inning, knotting the game up at four apiece. It's his fourth home run in his last five games and his seventh in his last seven. He has 20 round-trippers on the year with 48 RBI and a .275/.330/.535 triple-slash line.
