Player Notes
J.D. Martinez crushed a three-run homer in the third inning on Friday, leading the Tigers offensive attack in a 6-2 win over the Astros.

Advice: Martinez clobbered what looked to be a game-changing three-run homer to left field on the previous pitch, which hooked just foul at the last second. He then took the next Collin McHugh offering deep to right-center field to put the Tigers on top 3-2. He finished the night 2-for-3 and is now slashing .266/.337/.487 with nine homers and 21 RBI on the season.

J.D. Martinez (back) is in the Tigers' starting lineup on Thursday afternoon versus the Twins.

Advice: Martinez made an early exit on Wednesday night after experiencing some tightness in his lower back, but it obviously wasn't a huge deal. He's at DH on Thursday.
