Player Notes
Alexi Amarista went 1-for-3 with an RBI double in Thursday's loss to the Giants.

Advice: Amarista drove home the only Padres run of the evening when he notched an RBI double against Giants starter Jeff Samardzija in the second inning. Otherwise, nothing doing for San Diego. Amarista was just activated off the disabled list on Wednesday. He had been dealing with a right hamstring strain. The 27-year-old infielder holds a career triple-slash of .229/.277/.325 in the majors and holds no fantasy upside.

Padres activated INF Alexi Amarista from the 15-day disabled list.

Advice: Amarista landed on the disabled list with a right hamstring strain in late April. He went 2-for-5 in his rehab game with Double-A San Antonio on Tuesday. The Padres are apparently confident enough in his health that they won't be tossing him back out there for another rehab appearance. In 21 at-bats with the Padres prior to the bum hammy, he had picked up seven singles and two steals. Amarista is not a fantasy-relevant player.

Alexi Amarista (hamstring) went 2-for-5 in his rehab debut Tuesday with Double-A San Antonio.

Advice: Amarista saw time at second base and third base, and he came out of the game without any problems with his hamstring. He should be ready for activation sometime this weekend. The infielder has been on the disabled list since April 23 due to a right hamstring strain.

Alexi Amarista (hamstring) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday night.

Advice: Amarista should be back with the Padres by the end of the week if all goes smoothly on the farm. He's a little bit ahead of Yangervis Solarte (hamstring), who is still playing in games at extended spring training.

Alex Amarista (hamstring) has begun playing extended spring training games.

Advice: So has teammate Yangervis Solarte (hamstring). Beat writer Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune suggested both players are close to beginning rehab assignments with High-A Lake Elsinore. Amarista began the year with Triple-A El Paso but was called up to take Solarte's place at third base. Now both are on the comeback trail.
