Player Notes
Wil Myers revealed Tuesday that he's dealt with a bone spur in his left wrist since middle school.

Advice: Myers said that an inflamed tendon has been rubbing against it, which is causing the tendinitis that forced him to the disabled list. "When I get the inflammation out of the tendon, that’s when that bone spur doesn’t come into play," Myers said. It's not clear at this point how long the outfielder is expected to be sidelined.

Padres placed OF Wil Myers on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 11, with tendinitis in his left wrist.

Advice: The Padres gave the injury over a week to improve, but obviously Myers still wasn't ready to return to action. It's not clear at this point how long he might be sidelined. Will Venable and Abraham Almonte will see time in center field while Myers is out, with Yangervis Solarte handling first base.

Wil Myers (wrist) could be headed to the 15-day DL.

Advice: Myers is not listed anywhere on the Padres' lineup card for Tuesday's game against the Cubs. An announcement should be coming within the next hour. He's been out since May 10 because of tendinitis in his left wrist.

Padres manager Bud Black said on MLB Network Radio on Tuesday that the team is "getting to that critical juncture" where they need to make a decision about whether Wil Myers (wrist) will be placed on the disabled list.

Advice: Myers hasn't played since May 10 due to left wrist tendinitis. The Padres were hopeful that he would be able to return to the lineup after a few days of rest, but they can't afford to go short-handed for much longer.

Advice: Myers isn't swinging the lumber at 100 percent yet, but the hope is that he's feeling well enough to return to the lineup on Tuesday following Monday's off day. The outfielder hasn't played in a week due to tendinitis in his left wrist.

Wil Myers had his sore left wrist scanned back in San Diego on Wednesday afternoon.

Advice: Myers was scratched from the Padres' starting lineup on Tuesday night after tweaking his left wrist during batting practice and he'll be absent again Wednesday. There should be an update soon from the Friars, who are wrapping up a two-game set in Seattle. Myers jammed the same wrist earlier this season.

Wil Myers was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with left wrist soreness.

Advice: Myers tweaked the wrist during batting practice. It's the same wrist that he jammed earlier this season but not the same one that caused him to miss a big chunk of last season. The Padres should provide an update on his status before long.
