Player Notes
X-rays taken on Brandon Belt's sprained left ankle came back negative.

Advice: Belt suffered the ankle injury on a slide into second base during Wednesday afternoon's win over the Padres. Giants manager Bruce Bochy described the injury as mild and the negative X-rays back that assertion. Belt said that he thinks he might be able to play against the Rockies (at Coors Field) on Friday.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Brandon Belt suffered only a "mild" ankle sprain in Wednesday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Belt injured the ankle while sliding into second base in the eighth inning. He was able to walk off the field under his own power. After the game, Bochy said that it might take a few games for Belt to return to action, but there are no indications that this is any type of serious injury. He could maybe play Friday in Colorado.

Brandon Belt left in the eighth inning of Wednesday's game against the Padres with an ankle injury.

Advice: Belt appeared to roll his left ankle while sliding into second base in the bottom of the eighth. He was attended to by trainers before walking off the field without a visible limp. The team should provide an official update on his status after the conclusion of the game. It didn't appear too serious, but even a slight sprain could cost Belt a few days.
