Kirkman has been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer and will continue to pitch while receiving treatment, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports.
Recommendation: He's expected to make a full recovery, while the Rangers are continuing to use him as a starter at Triple-A Oklahoma City where he's racked up 27 strikeouts and 20 walks over 25.1 innings over six starts since making the switch.
