Player Notes
Danny Valencia was a monster in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Rays, hitting three home runs and finishing with 5 RBI.

Advice: These weren't just window dressing homers, either, as the A's needed every bit of Valencia's fine batting work to polish off the one-run win. He got things started with a first inning solo homer off Rays starter Matt Moore in the first, following it up with a two-run homer in the fifth. His third homer of the game, though, is the one that will make the end of the season highlight reel. The A's trailed 6-5 entering the top of the ninth inning. Valencia turned that around well enough with a two-run homer off Steve Geltz with two outs to boost his squad to the narrow victory. Hamstring injuries have limited the third baseman to 73 at-bats, but in that relatively limited window of action, he is slashing .342/.377/.589 with five homers and 10 RBI. All five of those homers and seven of those RBI have come over the last three games.
